Why developers consider multiple studios
A development agreement lets you reserve the right to open several studios in a defined area on an agreed schedule. Owners consider this path for a few reasons:
- Territory: securing a market before someone else does.
- Shared resources: one leadership team, recruiting pipeline and local brand awareness can support several studios.
- Career paths for staff: more studios mean more room for estheticians to grow into lead and manager roles.
- Brand density: nearby studios can reinforce each other's visibility.
Multi-unit ownership also brings more complexity: more leases, more hiring, more capital and a development schedule you'll be obligated to meet. Review the development agreement terms in the FDD with your advisors.
The Atlanta model
Magical Waxing® grew from a single studio in 2016 into a cluster of studios across metro Atlanta — the same kind of portfolio a multi-unit developer builds.

Financing and the FDD
The franchisor and its affiliates do not finance the investment. You receive the FDD at least 14 calendar days before signing or paying. See the five-step process for how a development deal moves from first call to signing.
